Tragic?

Magic, healing, and calling trauma 'love' — a hard, honest reckoning.
Words & music by Brody Bond · Written March 19, 2021
While in my head My broken heart bled For the glory Of what I swore you said
I want the chance to make a mistake
If a magician does a trick And you are not amazed Was it even magic?
And if a doctor heals my soul And I don't grow from my pain Would that life be tragic?
I don't even know what mistake I made
If a conductor draws the sound Sends vibrations through the crowd Would you say he made the music?
The conductor takes a bow Drops his knees to the ground Saying, "What you're gonna do, do it."
I did not see the way But I said I would stay It was the least I could do To pay what I thought I owed you
I'm gonna make you love me To stay afraid you might leave Calling trauma "love" Is a strong, strong drug
I made my bed Following the thread Of the story Of what more you might say
